Pretty Colors

I had a couple of quilts to make for a costumer with quilt tops that her grandmother made.  The two tops were identical.  I decided to make one more simple and the other stippled giving it a more busy look.  For the back of one I used the cream dots from Sandy Gervais Frolic line.  On that one I just straight line quilted and used a solid yellow binding.

For the second quilt I flip-flopped the binding and backing from the first.  So the quilts look completely different, but they still coordinate!

Again, sorry for the yuck pictures.  Not only are they cell phone pictures, but I also forgot to take pictures of the quilts before I folded them up and added the bow for delivery.  So I used my phone really fast and tried to get some pictures before I gave them to their new owner!

Simple Headband

I made this simple headband tonight.  It is only six strips braided together (to make two braids) and attached with an elastic.  Great way to use scraps (just make sure they are about 20 inches long!)

(sorry for the bad cell phone pictures!)

*this fabulous headband came from a tutorial over at Smile and Wave and can be found here!*

Woo Hoo

Got some sewing done today!!
First up was the Beach Hut Block for one of my guild members!  This was a fun, quick block to put together.  I think I want to make one of my own!

Next was another block for a different guild member.  This quilt will look like lattice when it's finished.  It's made of a bunch of different X blocks.  It was another really fun block to assemble.  However, it was quite time consuming.  It was a perfect "block of the month" type block.  I can't wait to see the quilt when she's all finished!

I also got the binding on my mom's table runner on the front, just need to sew down the back!  I also have two more finished quilts to share, but these go to a costumer so I won't be able to post those until she receives them.  I feel like it's been way too long since I got any sewing done and I feel so good that it happened this weekend!

A Tribute to a Great Friend

Tomorrow Keeley Rose needs to go back to her foster home.  We have had her for a year but she is getting to be too much and she's too powerful and crazy to be around a baby.  I will miss her greatly!  She's a little bit of a mess, and drives me insane sometimes; but at the end of the day she's a great pal!  I hope she gets a new home with someone who loves her as much as I do! *tear*

Yay!

I have gotten fabric for two new baby quilts!

This fabric is going to be made into a quilt that I have designed myself!

This is going to be turned into a sweet, little, snugly blanket combined with some Minky dots on the front and some Minky backing.

This is going to be so much fun!

Time to get busy!

Yesterday we found out that our little one is going to be a little boy! My first thought was oh dear...I know nothing of nothing about boy things. My second thought was man there goes all the cute dresses and things to make. Now I am excited! I have enough friends with little boys so I think I will make it! In the meantime I am off to the fabric store to find some good boy fabric to stock up on! Also, any little boy advice is greatly welcomed!
